I routinely visit this forum at least once a day. For about the last 24 hours I've had trouble getting to the forum. Now everything seems to be OK, but I don't understand what happened.
Yesterday about this time I logged in as usual. When I hit the View New Posts link, I got a page of posts from back in February. I figured it was some temporary glitch with the forum software and went on to my next morning stop. When I checked back an hour or so later, I got Cannot Connect To Webserver. Periodic retries throughout the day yesterday and this morning gave the same error. I asked around on another forum this morning and nobody else seemed to be having a problem. Curiouser and curiouser. Deleted cookies, tried a different browser, all the usual stuff. No joy. Spent a while with ping and traceroute, found out dot.kde.org is hosted on the same machine, so I tried that link and it worked. Then I tried the forum again and got in no problem. Am I the only one who had problems? I'm not aware of any changes at my end. Sure would like to know what was going on. |

Yes, there was a server problem.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
