There is change to add a image to message with the img -tag. But there is no way to add a image with thumbnail. It would help to add more big images without forcing images to go over the site.
Question is, how to add the images so the thumbnail (example 200x200px sized) is used and clicking it would open the big version? |

Yes it is easy to get to Internet to free image hosting services and get the image show up on the forum.
But it is not easy to get as thumbnail and not at full sized image. There is no code what KDE Forum would accept and allow the thumbnail been used instead full screen image. |

As google01103 suggested, use simplest-image-hosting.net
You can click on the "Share this image" link on the bottom right of the image to get the thumbnail code. |

Question was not "What online service to use to store images" but what are the correct HTML codes to get thumbnails in wanted size (user can specify the thumbnail resolution) so they work from any service.

@sayakb:
Adjusted the thumbnail code to also link to the existing full size version. |

Thanks, now it is actually easy to add a thumbnails to be linked without needing a thirdparty online service (can use own FTP/HTTP server as well) with HTML thumbnail support.
Just a question, it might not be possible to have the thumbnailer code to understand the image ration? (Not so bug deal but...) |

@Fri13:
Good point, thumbnail bbcode adjusted. now you only need to give a width, forget about the height. So use it like that: [thumb=Width]URL[/thumb] The height will be adjusted automatically. |

Bah. Great, now I don't have anything to complain about... OK maybe one thing ( ). Why not just use the regular [_img] tag? If no arguments are given it will act as normal (full size, no link), or you can specify a width to get a thumbnail ([_img=Width][_/img]). Same with [_code], it should switch to scrolling if the content is longer than a set number of lines.

The board software doesn't allow adding custom BBCode tags with the same name as any of the default ones. So, no.. we cant re-use img/code.
