Basically, I'd like it to be possible to port KDE to my cable TV subscription box, so that I am not restricted in any way whatsoever by my cable TV provider and since KDE is all about freedom, being able to port KDE to me cable TV subscription box seems like a fabulous idea! ;D Also, since KDE is in more active development than the proprietary software on cable TV subscription box, KDE on my cable TV subscription box might seem more stable and less buggy that my cabe TV provider's properietary software! :)

Please flesh out this idea more than "bring KDE to my TV" before this can be improved. Specifically what will it achieve?

Also, have you looked at plasma media center?
