There should be the ability to hide the cashew on the right hand top corner of the desktop and the right of the start bar and the option of move it elsewhere as I use the corners as shortcuts to some of my functions.

Hiding is already covered many times in many blogs, discussions etc. by Aaron - it is not gonna happen.
You can move the desktop cashew wherever you want to. (well, wherever as in on any edge of the screen - you can not drag it to the middle of the desktop) |

You can get a plasmoid to remove that awful slug completely if you go here: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.p ... =3101034.0 and read the first posting and follow the directions given by Rog131.

If you lock the widgets, then it will disapears. (From the panel too).

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me.
However, as I'm one of those oddballs who prefer to have my panel at the top of my screen the point becomes moot. In moving the panel to the top it hides the corner cashew, and then by locking the widgets the panel cashew is hidden. Ta da!! no cashews at all. At least until 4.2.95 (4.3 RC1), when the pesky little corner widget auto moves itself so the panel on the top no longer covers it up. So for me the solution presented by aged hippy is the best one. Thanks mate. |
