When replying to thread, subject filed is automatically filled with RE:[original title].
Yes it is editable, BUT * It is meaningless (for human), always all replies in same thread replies to the same 1st post. * It is meaningless (for machine). I guess such behavior came from email, where conversations are grouped bu titles, but here, in forum, conversations are grouped by TID, * Barely nobody uses subject field for short summary of his reply since a) its already filled, b) it became pointless - nobody takes attention to it in the sea of RE:'s * Writing custom subjects like (USE XZY and then writhe how to do it) would allow a better flow of conversation. Especially in long ones. * It makes search useless (unless grouping by thread would be implemented in this forum). If your keyword is found in title, whole conversation is going to be displayed just search for gecko search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&keywords=gecko&start=10 or bowser or any other a bit more popular keyword. |

It is useful when searching, if you think too many replies pop up when you search for something then check "First post of topics only" on search.

you'd have to go through the search button right below the banner on top of the page, which takes you to an advanced search with lots of options (http://forum.kde.org/search.php). |
