Reading ideas on the Brainstorm, I ended to think that my votes were often influenced by the current votes. This is the first thing you see, even before reading the description, and it makes your mind biased.

I think the results should be initially hidden, and shown only once you voted, or maybe with a "Reveal results" button.

I think the user could have the choice to see the results without voting.

But, by default, the votes could be hidden.

So, +1

Yes, that's better if each user can choose what he wants ..

By the way, I don't understand so many negative votes.

I discussed this with the forum staff earlier as well as I had this feature on my ToDo when starting to code this interface, and I personally think this will make voting 'fair'.
But there are some other factors too which we need to consider, like the "sort by votes" dashboard option -- an idea listed on the initial pages will obviously mean it has a lot of votes, which makes the whole concept of hiding the votes a waste. Also, looking at the score if this idea, it doesn't seem to be a very acceptable change either.

Marked as WontFix for now.
