Ever since I started using KDE 4, I have been a bit annoyed with the sliding toolbar on plasmoids. When switching desktops, there is often a toolbar visible, and given how rarely I use them, they are pretty much just disturbing. They are unneeded noise in the otherwise nice and stylish desktop!
I suggest that they are replaced with a small icon showing inside the plasmoid when moused over, that can be clicked to show the toolbar. Or even with a context menu item to show it. |

Why can't you just lock the widgets?

I just never knew that effect, so thank you Next thought: How many people know that? How is one supposed to learn that? |

It appears on right-click, or when modifying the panel, so I think it is expected that people will come across it when configuring their widgets.
