KDE allows the user to customize the GUI behavior to a very high degree which is why so many people like it.
It would be good to have the ability to save presets which could be easily exchanged or saved. Besides personal ones. It would be good for new users if they could click MacOSX ,Gnome or Windows etc... presets. and the GUI would then behave and look like those setups without having to change many settings. This lets them attain a sense of familiarity and idea of possibilities with one click. Personally I use the old school Linux setup with mouse focusing, window shading and independent desktops. I have to set this up every time with any new Linux setups.(telling a user to back up random pref and text files is not an answer).
