Default Applications - more options

Sun Sep 12, 2010 8:45 pm
I would like to be able to choose default video player. But also default archive application, and default pictures...

I want to replace Dragon player with VLC, but I don't want to do this for every video file type manually and every time when I install OS or create user account.;D

Idea is to add Video player, Archive app, and Pictures app. to the Default Applications in System Settings.

Thank you.

Sorry to tell you that this has already been submitted to Brainstorm (with almost exactly the same title), and voted up enough to also be submitted to bugs.kde.org:

Not that I don't think this is important. Quite the contrary actually. In a point-and-click centric environment like KDE, control of what happens when you click a file is an absolute core functionality. In that light I'm shocked this isn't implemented already.
