Currently I believe that the KDE desktop is the only really choice for people migrating from Windows without having to learn a completely different desktop paradigm. However some small changes could go a long way, namely changing Kickoff to open using the Meta key rather than Alt+F1, currently it is not even possible to set it manually as it demands you to enter a key alongside the meta key as a short cut. Some other actions that might benefit from similar treatment are:

Show Desktop > Meta+D
Lock Desktop > Change from Ctrl+Alt+L to Meta+D

This would be a nice addition for people making the migration and experienced KDE users can still always change these settings to something more desirable.
