Hello.
I would like to propose an option forstopping energy saving functcionality while watching movie in firefox

I have problem cause while I watch movie on megavideo my screen goes blank and off, and then in few minutes it went sleep. ( I like that way, but I dont like it while watching movies)

So I think That it will be great if user will have choose to block screen saver while useing specified aplication like vlc or plugin-container (it run while flash plugin runs)

Please consider it. I hope You will understand what I mean.
please see also here. I hope it will be help.

You could always add a "multimedia activity" which ignores all power management :)

Isn't screensaver a separate topic, as referenced by your idea here? brainstorm.php#idea99570

I think that goes for screensavers too - this activity thing is sort of meant for that methinks, i.e. different power profiles etc.

Doesnt work at all
while I am in multimedia activity my laptop turn off the screen and then he is going sleep :(
I have to set special settings per activity, but there is no option to hold on the screen saver :(

I use wiggle mouse http://wigglemouse.sourceforge.net/ it's not elegant nor automatic but it keeps the screen saver from kicking in until a better solution gets implemented

Thanks for trying this, sorry it didn't work :(

A quick google came up with this http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-dis ... blank.html but it doesn't sound as though it is a solution you'd be interested in...
