- Improve the support for black and dark themes in KDE. Now, if we change the color of themes, many applications get horrorific style and sometimes get unreadable text in LibreOffice, forms of websites using Firefox or Opera, etc.
- Organize the settings and simplific the settings, many of this must be obsolete or deprecated. A new settings manager with all options and more system customization can make KDE more user friendly and popular. Customization can be more lighter, easy and beautyful. - Include less applications obligated in the instalation, and make some changes in the software center to help new users install all the software they need without install it by default or make excesive dependencies. - Clean the KDE code and dependencies, make it more faster and with less widgets and bloatware by default. Thank you very much for your atention.

None of them is a KDE or even just Qt Application and they render their text hardcoded. It's sad, but true: using bright on dark themes is hardly ever an option since some application will always **** it up (with hardcoded internal colors) You'll have to walk around and bug each by one, the UI styles should more or less all be capable of the generic bright on dark painting (not seen one to fail)
This Brainstorm topic exists several times by now ...
Distro thing, nothing KDE devs have too much impact on
Sorry, but this is meaningless generic complaining. Point what yo mean in particular or skip it. |

Doing automatic software update today I was FORCED with a gun to my head to install "Get Hot Stuff" V3 library for the KDE platform.
The developers / writers are making Linux (the perfect OS) start to look like windblows and as much bloatware as windblows. I tried to remove the trash after the forced installation and was informed that I would lose most of my KDE components if I removed this bloatware. We need to get back to the basics with 100% choice. (1) choose an OS. Linux (2) choose a desktop environment. KDE (3) choose what software we want or don't want to install on our computer. No adware or bloatware. PERIOD... Save Linux. Don't spoil it by thinking like the thief named Bill Gates. |

First post - and likely very 1st trolling attempt as well?
"knewstuff" is v4, it's a frameworks splitout from kdelibs and required to allow installation of additional themes etc. from kde-look.org via the theme dialogs. v2 and v3 of the library are part of kdelibs. knewstuff v4 is 644K, the entire installation size (inc. optional i18n and headers - your distros choice only) 1.6MB No bloat, no adware. -> you've certainly never been required (let alone forced ... let alone the gun) to install v3 (except when your distro finegraines kdelibs, what's rather a feature of the distro in case) |

This Idea contains more than one idea, some not related to KDE software, others very unspecific, so it's not well suited for KDE Brainstorm. If you want to voice your opinion regarding these issues the Discussions & Opinions forum would be a better place.
Also please remember the KDE Code of Conduct - calling something "bloatware" isn't very nice when someone has spent time and effort on making it freely available for everyone. Just because you don't find it useful doesn't mean that it's useless.
