KDE partition manager don´t come with support to write ntfs partition.
It could came with this support on a next version of KDE. What do you think ? My case: searching in forum I found that is necessary to add some packages but any thing work with me. I try ntfs-config; ntfs-3g; ntfsprogs but nothing works Many people are having trouble with this and are downloading gparted to get the job done: http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread ... r-and-NTFS http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread ... on-manager Gparted is the third score on mint packages: http://community.linuxmint.com/software/search) On Chakra Benz, the partition manager have are quite different and have support to write ntfs partition. It´s version 1.0.60....but I just can´t find this version on any where. On the site of the app, on sourceforge, It´s version 1.0.3 : http://sourceforge.net/projects/partitionman/ Chakra description of this app is: Version 1.0.60 Using KDE Development Plataform 4.10.1 optimized by Chakra Project KDE could use this Chakra modifications to improve the KDE partition manager. Or you guys could add the ntfs support on a next version in a other way. What do you think ? All the best I use KDE Mint and Chakra Benz. |

This is not a KDE issue, this is a distro issue and you should query the Mint forum/developers why the lack of NTFS support. In openSUSE I have NTFS support and you have in Chakara

Yep, not problem of KDE. Filesystem belongs to operating system (== linux kernel) and you need to install FUSE modules (NTFS-3G) to give Linux understanding how to write and modify NTFS (NT filesystem).
