Whenever i had to do work on another machine i just ran a crossover cable between it and my main machine as the router im connected to is in a area where i can't put a computer. However when i made the switch to linux (kubuntu) i found this not to be a simple process and even after following many tutorials i was unable to share the internet connection. Could this be made a default feature, maybe via the settings menu?

This should be implemented upstream in NetworkManager, not KDE

I second the wish for a easy to setup Internet Connection Sharing. It should be possible to decide if you would like to share through WIFI or Ethernet.
There are different use cases where that could be useful.
current KDE Neon

the reason i mention it as a feature of kde is because its not simply a feature in network manager but because of it being a security related task it should be implemented into the settings menu. Besides, isnt the network manager part of the KDE project?

NetworkManager is a distro and DE neutral project. Your feature needs to be implemented in NetworkManager and exposed in the Gnome/KDE frontends. There is no good reason for this to be a KDE only thing. |

This feature is currently listed on the TODO for the Network Management plasmoid.
