Please include desktop search integration into KDE, for example, a search widget, a searchbar on a panel, and especially, search in Dolphin. Please include the option of indexing, as some people may not like to have their cpu wasted on indexing their files. Also, include boolean operators and type support, as in Windows Vista/7 search. Perhaps use Beagle? There is a super-fast search algorithm found in a small GPLed Windows program called XLN desktop search (http://sourceforge.net/projects/xlndsearch/). It may take a little bit of work to port it, but this algorithm would be great for non-indexed searches. Oh, and please include being able to search throughout the network and shared folders.

It will be implemented with Strigi and Nepomuk.
But I'll approve it. I wonder if strigi/nepomuk/soprano/.. also does widget search as you propose it.

There is one in playground. I _think_ it's called crystal but my memory may not be perfect.

That's right. Dolphin in trunk also has a search bar. Indexing is already optional. Last, but not least, please only post one idea per thread, as it the current voting system only supports voting for one idea. It also makes it easier for us to mark the idea as Implemented/Done etc. I'm marking this as Invalid, but feel free to post them as separate ideas (note that first ideas are already implemented, as I mentioned above).
