Plasmoids are cool and all, but I want the old style desktop back. Normal desktop. KDE3 behavior.

The desktop folder that's available under KDE4 is just broken. Why, for example, do all of the icons have ".desktop" suffixes displayed? Why don't automounted devices show up?

Thank you for trying to improve KDE, however this compromises more than one idea, please repost seperating the requests for devices on the desktop and not showing *.desktop suffixes.

You can use the device notifier to provide access to your devices on the desktop. Automounted devices cannot be shown because the folder view only shows the content of the folder specified.
