Dear friends,
For me as a simple KDE user with some experience in Linux having possibility to limit download speed in Adept manager or Add/Remove manager could be useful thing. For example, i am working something on the Internet and in one moment i realize that i need some program so i can keep on with my work or i need some video game which is 400MB big, at the moment Adept will overtake maximum download speed and each time i try to open something i will have to wait until browser takes some Internet... So, what i am looking for is simple option in Adept where i can, like on some Torrent client, to limit download speed. I have tried to find something about this on this forum but as much i have seen nobody has been started topic like this one. Also, i am apologizing if there is possibility to do this via console but i just do not know how to do that. Thank you and keep with good work. Kind regards from Serbia, |

Sorry, but I must inform you that your idea is not an KDE related idea, and is as such invalid, as Adpet was developed by Kubuntu.
But it was discontinued in 9.04 version and repalced with KPackageKit. So I advise you to wait until 9.04 comes out and then see if KPackageKit has this option and if it doesn't then please propose your idea here: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/

You are right. I am apologizing for this. I wasn't thinking. I thought that it is somehow KDE related since you have Adept, Synaptic or something else in a lot of versions. Thank you for your advice. Kind regards, |
