Plase, don't break the desktop anymore.
Reasons: - It gives them more work for coders, having to waste time on port the application and solve new bugs, instead of using it to add new features. - It gives them more work for distro-developers, they must packaging two different versions of many apps, and new packages are buggy. - Time is wasted in a return to a functional desktop, fast and stable. KDE 3.5 is more stable and faster than 4.2, and it has got more important features that 4.2 not. |

The KDE developers did not 'break' the desktop when porting to Qt4, and they could not stay with Qt3 since that was not going to be having any more releases. The codebase had also started to have some issues, which the port / rewrite has solved.
