go to konqueror as file manager

switch to list view

make a folder with LONG name like xorg-server-utils (libxfontcache libxi libxaw libxxf86misc libxrandr libxxf86vm
mcpp-2.6)

no matter how wide you make the file name column the name is cut at some point

but there is no visible hint that not the entire name is viewed

i would like to have some visual distortion of the last visible glyphs in the file name - to point that it is not completely viewed

This is a bug in Konqueror, which since Konqueror uses the Dolphin part for displaying folders, affects Dolphin also. Please file a bug at bugs.kde.org
