[Amarok] Dynamic Splash Screen

Thu Jul 02, 2009 7:32 am
Hi,
just a short one...

make the amarok splash screen dynamic... maye some notes that flow through the screen or some loading circle etc...

Its just anoying to sit before this picture and wait that something happens...

Why would a dynamic splash be better? Well look at the boot screens, nearly every system uses... they are dynamic, too. Its just makes a good feeling for the user.

Wouldn't it be better to get amarok startup time down to a point that the splash isn't needed at all.

I know it isn't as easy as it sounds, but it is the 'correct' solution IMNSHO.

Well thats up to the user.... I would really like more splash screens and mir instant Ui PopUp in all applications...

I really hate it when I can see how the ui is slowly built up. Eg when I open systemsettings this is the case...

For such things I think that it would be better to have a greyes out window with some loading symbol than this...

I makes the ui feel very sluggish..

Apple is doing nearly everything like this and it feels very smooth...
