Classic Application Launcher Makeover

There is currently a classic menu launcher option, but it really lacks in terms of beauty and integration. Since a lot of people still use this kind of launcher, i think it should probably be better integrated with the desktop. For example it could be themable and look less cluttered. It could also be integrated with desktop search : when a section is open, hitting the key "G" repeatedly could jump to all relevant items starting with "G".
