Could it be possible to allow users to select a custom color specifically for
the window scrollbar which would be independent from the general selection color? The idea is that the scrollbar would be always coloured as the user would like and not only when the pointer is on it. Or even better, the user should be able to choose whether the scrollbar is always colored or only when selected with the mouse. |

I agree, but I guess I'm bothered with how KDE chooses colors for different widgets overall, there seems to be no reason to it (like Windows) and most of them can't be configured (unlike Windows, although technically this requires registry editing)

i guess at least oxygen should allow as much configurability as possible

I agree, i very often have big problems, especily while browsing the web, finding the scroll bar on left. Sometimes it can get *really* small and to find it can be a problem.

Could anyone who votes against this idea at least say why they would prefer the scrollbar to be just gray?

can somebody who voted no explain? maybe there is a posibility to do this even now and some of us are just not aware of it, that's why i'm asking for comment.
edit: typos...

Most users expect KDE applications to follow a global colour scheme coherent with the rest of the application colours.

In fact the idea is that once you decide what colour the scroll bar should be for your theme, then all of the applications will display it as you wanted.
I guess that is how KDE always works when you decide your color scheme. What makes you think in my first post that the idea was that some applications should change appearance and others not? |

The coherency of the colour scheme overall would be comprimised if this would be implemented as the scrollbar would no longer use the same colours as the rest of the scheme.
