Title says it all: while watching videos in fullscreen mode via the flash plugin I have to manually switch off the screensaver and disable the "turn off monitor".
Is there a way to implement in KDE this check, like it works for Kaffeine? (I know Firefox isn't a QT application, but I think most KDE users don't use Konqueror as main web browser) |

I think we need a more general solution for this problem.
The general problem is, to control the screensaver manually in some situations. The solution might be a plasmoid that is simply a switch: is the mouse on top of it, the switch is activated an deactivates e.g. the screensaver, or activates it, or does smthng else thats reasonable... you could place this plasmiod whereever you want, even in an edge of the screen... even MacOs has a machanism like that, called hotcorners... but i would suggest to make it a plasmoid so you can place it whereever you want... |

It's not only the screensaver, but also the monitor auto power off after x minutes that should be disabled. If an auto check like kaffeine is not possible, I think should be much simpler to add the option under the screen edges configuration (already present) than creating a plasmoid. Moreover, when you watch a fullscreen video you can't place the mouse over the plasmoid, but you can place it on a screen edge. |

You'll have to bring that to the attention of the Flash plugin developers.
They probably forgot to call XResetScreensaver() or are not doing it regularily, thus leaving the system in the impression that nothing important is going on and screensaver or screen powersaving can be commenced.

So it's the problem of the flash plugin developers then... |

I'll close this then.
