I believe it would be very useful to include support for offline messaging in MSN. This feature is supported in Pidgin (just as it is natively for MSNM), and I'd like to see it in Kopete. This is especially useful when you have a friend who is in a timezone +/- 8 hours from yours. Being able to send/receive messages while that friend is offline is great, because you would otherwise not be able to chat with him/her while they are away (such as is the case in Kopete's current state).

PS: Sorry that I've been inactive, developing my own website & forum along with school has kept me busy. I have to say that I'm surprised with the votes. Keep it up everyone! Kopete has potential!

I guess this is already supported, isn't it?

Offline messaging for MSN isn't supported natively (connection with 'offline' msn-server), hence the request. I'm not the only one to complain about this. If it was already supported then the mods wouldn't have validated my request.

Both sending and receiving offline messages work for me.

Then let's just say it's not natively fully supported. And agian, the mods would have not validated this request if it was natively fully supported. There's already 6 votes on this in just a few hours and it isn't even a very active request. So it must not be working for everyone or else this request would not be here and be getting votes. I want it to connect with the offline-servers for MSN exactly like it does with pidgin and msnm.

EDIT: There was a topic by Darth Greensaber regarding this, and it was recognised as a non-functional feature...go search it and you'll see ;)

Yeah, the feature is there but not working very well. For example, if I get a offline message then I can't see when it was sent, it just shows the time I received it/logged in.

Exactly. We want native and fully functional support. Half the time I don't even receive or even have the ability to send offline messages to a friend of mine. Kopete is great, and I want it to be the best it can be. Good offline support for MSN needs to be there in my opinion.

86 so far, this feature really needs to be looked at as a moderately serious implementation. That's just my obvious opinion of course.

It is implemented. If it is not working properly you should file bug reports to get it fixed.
