I really like the Quick Look capability of Mac OS X, and it would be nice to see it in KDE. Sometimes I just want to read a document instead of editing it. I think of it as an extremely fast-launching, stripped down version of okular, as it can already open a variety of files. However, okular as it is now seems still a bit bloated.
Also, it would be nice to be able to access it when pressing spacebar on a selected file, and to be able to let it play films.. More info about quick look here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/what-is-mac ... -look.html |

Personally I don't find Okular bloated at all, but as for videos you do know that in Dolphin the sidebar can play videos?
There are also a few preview plasmoids though admittedly not for documents.

the previewer plasmoid works on pdf, txt and jpg's but not .doc's (uses kpart, so anything kpart can display....)

What, specifically, is the problem with okular? "Bloated" is too vague to be useful. This is exactly what okular is designed to do.
