hi, i propose a porting of emerald on kwin, emerald are more customizable, and the creation of the themes are very simple, have the difect be heavy, but are much better than the kde window decorator.

in kde 4.4 there's aurorae theme engine that is supposed to be more customizable

Aurorae is too lazy for me when I use kwin effects, they are to slow....minize effect just not working well....just with aurorae...

Aurorae exists because it is hardly possible to port Emerald to KWin. AFAIK Emarald will not be ported to Compiz++ and by that it is a dead technology. Emarald consists of several different engines - each one is complex and uses lots of GTK calls which are hardly to understand if you don't know GTK. The possibility to reuse code is probably impossible. By that I don't think it would be a good idea to port emerald and I don't think it will ever happen.

Emerald is dead. Maybe KDE needs a better window decorator, but Emerald isn't the answer.
