Firefox has a feature called personas. For those who haven't seen it:
http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/ It would be nice if oxygen had something similar, but with a few important differences. - It should affect all applications. - You should be able to set the opacity of a persona(Some can be very intrusive if their dark - There should be a a little bit of bordering around text in the user interfaces to keep the text readable or some effect that keeps the text readable. - SVG should be an option for personas. - GHNS should be used to get new personas. |

I think it feels a little tacky, really, but it would be a good way to add (safe) GHNS support to the, "widget themes" KCM.
If the Oxygen KWin decorations could be used as the top-right of the image as well, then it wouldn't feel quite so, "cheap" Though personally, I still think it's a little tacky. If enough people like it though... :/

Plasma does this with the svg in the background of the oxygen theme. I personally don't think it looks tacky. Oh well...

I am not a fan of personas in general for reasons like Madman stated above. If enough people want it then fine but KDE is already them-able. Do we really need another form of skinning?

I don't think this belongs in oxygen, but it wouldn't be bad to have a different widget engine that supports this.

I don't understand why this is considered "tacky" The oxygen circles in the plasma theme are then tacky too. Personas were admittedly a bad example because I saw someone else posting this same idea with a different tag line and getting a lot more votes.
I think the gray(or whichever colour you make them) widget backgrounds are dull. Windows 7 makes them glassy, and mac os gives them a metallic texture. I don't personally think either of those look tacky. For the record I don't want pictures of lolcats adorning the backgrounds of widgets. But oh well... |

I think it would be great if Plasma supports Firefox personas (not creating their own). Personas create another look as themes do and look great on a panel/widget/window. There already are a lot available and you could give every panel/widget/app there own persona (or all the same). This would cheer up the desktop a little bit.
