Dolphin should be enhanced to become more comprehensive file manager.

- Arc functionality to be integrated with Dolphin (Some of the features are already there)
- Gwenview functionality to be integrated with Dolphin so that when we click on the images, they are opened in new tab instead of opening in new window of Gwenview
- Okular functionality to be integrated with Dolphin so that when we click on PDF files, they are opened in new tab instead of opening in new window of Okular
- KFileReplace functionality to be added to Dolphin so that we need not open another application
- Filelight or Kdiskfree functionality to be added to Dolphin so that we can check free space without needing to open another application

What you are asking for is to convert Dolphin into a Konqueror clon, and IMHO this completely defeat the main reason for Dolphin existence: to provide a simple, reasonably powerful and easy to use file manager for people (like me) that do not need the full power you can find in Konqueror.
Do you know you can change Dophin by Konqueror on System settings -> Predefined application -> File manager?
(NOTE: I'm translating from Spanish, path could be slightly different)

thats exactly what i was thinking... though i liked the enormous functionality of konqueror.. .

what about a plugin system for dolphin.. so everyone can choose between an ultra lightweight filebrowser and the king of the filemanagers..... ?????

I think that it would be better than Dolphin had a viewer like the one in the screenshot from this other idea

brainstorm.php#idea85386

Dolphin has to continue with its original idea -> Be a simple but powerful file manager that does exactly this: Manage files
