I propose KDE to have "Usability (User Interface) Profiles"
for eg. - Minimalistic / Clean / Easy User Interface - User will get a very clean desktop and less clutter. It will provide very minimum options / menus / icons etc. which are required routinely. Other options / menus / icons will be hidden under advanced tab / option. - Moderate User Interface - User will get balanced user interface with some more options visible and others hidden under advanced tab / options. - Advanced User Interface - User will get all options visible (like current). I personally prefer this interface. But some users get confused with so many options / possibilities. There should be provision to customize and add / remove profiles. I propose that all KDE applications also should provide this feature so that once profile is selected all applications also behave similarly. (I agree that this is huge task). I believe that by this KDE will be attractive to all kinds of users. |

Great! Only thing I would prefer to use profiles rather than making 3 separate compilations. |

So is it just April Fool? In my opinion if this feature is implemented, it can attract lot of users as they can use KDE as per their preference. |

"So is it just April Fool?"
The article is. It mentions KDE SC 5. That's not to say that there are no ideas or intentions to make different editions of KDE SC, but AFAIK there are no plans to make different UI sets for different editions. |

this part of the article is more than clear.. isn't it?
*g* sorry for the late april fool... "For your protection this compilation will be closed source, not allow you to access root level functionality, and will fully enforce security through obscurity thanks to the "black box" development processes that will be used in creating this edition."
