Hi

If you have a touchscreen (e.g. mobile phone, wePad, connected to your PC) it would be very nice to have the option of showing the new Plasma On-Screen Keyboard automatically when an input field is activated (e.g. the blinking the carret is in the field).

Example: Amarok is displayed on your Touchscreen, connected to your PC. You would like to search in the collection for some album. With one click, you put the cursor inside the search field. If set in the configuration, the Plasma On-Screen Keyboard pops up immediately.

It would even be possible to determine whether to show the entire keyboard or just the numerical part, if the input field uses QTs input Mask properties

The display position of the keyboard could either be close to the input-box or fixed at the bottom of the screen - which would require scrolling the input-box to the top of the screen so it remains visible.

I think this is absolutely necessary for PDAs or mobile phones.

Note: This idea is similar to this one
