Hey guys,

In Germany we have now a single! Ipad alternative, but bluntly said,
everything is total buggy.

OS had changed: now it is MeeGo 1.01/ Stores for Android/MeeGo/Wetab are planned.

repos are here (for a quick look) http://178.63.180.29/market-stable/

You would do a very big favor to the community and the company (who totally miscalculated the necessary efforts to get such a thing running.

Yes there's lots of "true" criticism out there. But nobody is helped with Ignorance and Hatred. The WeTab was too expensive to let it be in such a state like now. Most of the Things are Software Updates and Integration and there your our? community does a superb job.

But they do lack totally of qualified "touchy" Software and everybody (the company tells the users: if you are using root shell you will use your software warranty.

That is nothing I had wished for (regarding a truly open tablet)

Notmart and his team are doing a very great job in porting all the precious KDE-Applications to mobile systems.

My best liked "App" would be krita (with sensors and multitouch)

To sum everything up: It is a platform with GREAT potential and awful marketing! (and some annoying hardware bugs!)

Yours sincerely Andreas_P

If you have specific suggestions about how KDE could work better on the device feel free to post them (in separate ideas, please). This idea, however, is too general and vague to be implementable.

If the WeTab/WePad community wants to work with KDE developers they are welcome to do so. But unless there are specific features KDE should be supporting, there isn't really much KDE can do besides design the software to work well on tablet devices in general.

If someone was willing to supply them with an example device I am sure the developer would be more then happy (eventually) to test their software on it and make sure it works properly, but they can't afford to buy every tablet on the market unfortunately.

This is being worked on by Cyrille Berger at the moment.

Um, no... me either. No one was actually talking about the iPad, but customizing for touch screen tablets (ie Android, Plasma Spark etc)
