Ipod touch support

I'm currently using kubuntu and I can't mount my ipod touch with ifuse, I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or if their is another reason why it isn't working, but it would be so much easier if it was supported right out of the box like it is with gnome.

I do not think this is a KDE problem. Firstly, if I understand iPods correctly, they are not meant to be mounted. You cannot simply transfer stuff across by mounting it as a filesystem. You require special syncing software to perform this as Apple uses a proprietary DB for managing its song list.

There are libraries which handle this, I'm not too sure but I think they are libgpod, libipod, or such. I hope that answers your question.

Well if your not using rhythmbox in gnome the only other way to to sync songs or just play songs in linux is to mount it and then use gtkpod. You have to mount it for gtkpod to work. It mounts automatically in gnome and can be synced using rhythmbox. The libraries that handle ipod touch are libimobiledevice, which i have installed, but I can't mount with ifuse and use gtkpod to sync and play songs. It would be nice if kde and amarok supported ipod touch, like gnome and rhythmbox do.

According to the #amarok channel, this is more of a bug than a feature request. Please file a bugreport in bugs.kde.org.

Are you sure it's a bug, because I from what I've seen on forums while search some people seem to believe it's because kde doesn't recognize the device so amarok doesn't either. Don't mp3 players have to be recognized in solid in order for them to work in amarok? When I plug the ipod touch in the device notifier doesn't have any reaction.
