It would be nice if even for kpackagekit become possible to upload application screenshot in the ubuntu software center way: http://screenshots.ubuntu.com/packages.

Doubt:
Kpackagekit does already use the same images of ubuntu software center?

This is a distro specific idea. Please submit the idea for your distribution.

But...isn't Kpackagekit the default KDE Package manager? (not just the kubuntu one). So this idea will improve kpackagekit for all distribution.

As much as standardisation is nice, it's simply not practical. Although KPackageKit may be the "default" package manager as well as support multiple backends such as Ubuntu's APT or Arch or Fedora etc, your idea deals with submitting screenshots to "Ubuntu's" repository. Each backend will have its own repository.

You might want to have a chat with somebody more experienced in KPackageKit in Ubuntu to offer an alternative suggestion.

It would still require an abstract backend enhancement that every backend can implement to provide screenshot capabilities. That however is also not specific to KPK, but packagekit in general, so it is probably more of an idea for that bugger. It is however not distro specific.

Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.
