>All feedback contains some kind of useful info. If nothing else you could count a bad or hateful feedback as "general dislike" for the product.
>Stack enough of those up and you still see you have a problem! All feedback doesn't contain usefull information a user saying "your software sucks" isn't usefull at all. Stacking general dislike to point about a problem either, if it were the case, nepomuk, akonadi and others great technologies should maybe removed from KDE based on general feedback. >Wouldn't it be much easier to include an option within the Help menu / About pop-up window where a user could directly rate the product (not the developer!) and transmit his views directly to the >developer(s)? The idea sound much better like this, but i'm still against the rating ^^. Maybe something like the amarok's feedback icons could be used. I think it's call liveback and it's a separate library so devs could integrate it to their softwares if they want to. So, I'm agree that a easier way to give feedback to devs is something to think about. But please don't say that devs are hiding behind the forum. First, most of them don't reply here. Do they care about user then ? Yes I think they do. But there's something every users should keep in mind : These guys got a life, a job, a wife, kids, friends, maybe hobbies outside of computer related things; they are coding on their free time, answering to features/bugs request and trying to solve them; they are communicating on blogs, mailings list, irc, with other devs and probably doing hundred others things (outside of my user scope) for the KDE community. So I think they deserve respect and I'm also worried than another feedback system could overwhelm them more than they are...

Yes, Amarokers lead in those nifty experimental things - they were the first to include opendesktop integration into the about dialogue. (apart from other things ) @chromatic6 +1 > So I think they deserve respect and I'm also worried > than another feedback system could overwhelm them more > than they are... IMO, it shouldn't be a separate system - but rather a UI for the user which would post to our standard systems (namely BKO - whether it is bugzilla or something better we're all hoping for ) |
