I was thinking about integrating an IRC client (possibly Konversation) into Kontact. I drew up a very basic mockup (also low quality, please excuse me for that, I'm new to this thing). So how I could imagine it:

I hope you guys like my idea. It would be awesome to see it implemented.

Could actually be a great addon for Kontact. Just like adding a Kopete functions for there as well.

I could imagine a company support and virtual groups using IRC more often. Automatic logging, seeing who are in the room and easily transferring files etc.

It is sad that IRC is just too much avoided in corporations.

VNC/IRC/Webcam combination would be just awesome. And very simple way to run application over X11 protocol and Kontact could be.... best for most company contact/project users.

Oh and I think it could be better not be called as IRC in kontact. As it might scare away many users, but neither as IM or "Chat".
