this is a small tutorial on how to install and run starport galactic empires on debian or crunchbang linux and works on most others
download the client http://www.starportgame.com/dlmirror1.php
go to terminal type sudo apt-get install wine/ apt-get install wine/ or for fedora yum install wine
and configure wine
get wine tricks wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
followed by chmod -x winetricks
then sh winetricks vcrun2005
then sh winetricks ie6
then run starport download installer rightclick/run with wine
and create a sepeperate folder for the game
and install the game customly in that folder and run it through one of the launchers its different every time
