Give KDE some weight!

Thu Nov 17, 2011 2:39 pm
In my expierience, stablity, good looks have as much to do with feel as graphics. KDE is the best looking OS by a very large margin, but it can be improved in a very simple way.

Now try to bear with me, and im sure youll understand. KDE needs to slow down, it needs slightly bigger title bars (no bigger than ubuntu) to give the windows weight.

Windows 7 is a good example of it, windows FEELS stable because when you drag a window it moves very fluidly and renders nicely.

same with ubuntu, but kde feels delicate. i dont know hwo to dessribe it.

the best way to desribe what im talking about is video games, you know how some game reviewers say "the weapons in this game FEEL powerful, and have weight to them"

versus having weapons that look impressive, but dont FEEL impressive.

kde looks teh best, but it feels delicate and betaish. if you understand what im talking about you will agree.

Give KDE some weight!

Can you please clarify what exactly your idea is? "Give KDE more weight", "Make KDE more polished" etc. are not valid ideas.

it needs slightly bigger title bars (no bigger than ubuntu) to give the windows weight.

This is already possible to configure for some window decorations, including the default decoration (Oxygen).
