In order to make dolphin's interface cleaner I suggest to:
- move the zoom slider to the toolbar (after all, in the toolbar there are many other options to configure how files and folders are displayed, why is the zoom slider down at the bottom?) - hide the status bar by default (this should be left configurable, it seems to me that information about file and folder size can be found in enough other places: e.g. info panel and detailed file view) Mockup: |

Status bars do show interesting "grouped" information, such as the total number of files and folders.
The zoom slider is down at the bottom because it is more "usable" - that is, zoom sliders have been down there for a long time in many applications until people instinctively look for it there.
