It would be very nice to have the posibility to manage the volume for each program individually, just like Vista does. It is a very powerfull option that I really like (I think is the only one) from Vista, so why can't we have it too on KDE!!??

Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

Of course it will also have the current mixing options...:

But may be on another tab, to separete the individual application volume control and the current mixing options...

Let me know what you think about this idea! ;-)

I like the idea, but your pictures are not working for me.

Isn't this something that can be achieved with Phonon?

Probably, but I see no easy way to do it from a user perspective.

This idea looks a lot like this issue: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137911

Proudly dual-booting openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3 and Windows Vista on a Toshiba A205-S4577 since July 2007.

Thanks, now I think you can be able to see them

Yes, I didn't knew it was already posted as a "bug" at bugs.kde.org, thanks. I hope that this helps to a quick implementation of the idea.

If I'm not mistaken, this is one of the things that supposedly is one of pulseaudio's selling points. I say supposedly because I've never been able to get pulseaudio to work properly...

It does (and works perfect), but the idea is to have that option integrated with Kmix, to make it as easy as posible. You just need one click on the system tray to access Kmix (and that option if it's implemented).

This is the pulseaudio volume control in action:

The Fedora team is working hard on this right now. Have a look at this link
