If you have a lot of windows open, present windows makes them very small. I think it would be useful that when you hover your mouse over a window for a moment, the window grows larger so you can see its contents better.

A small but stylish and useful addition. You could have the option be a slider between "normal" and "Near Fullscreen". Personally I'd favour something fairly limited, like say an exrta 25% larger (note thats 25% of the window thumbnail). What would look really great would be if all the other thumbnails gently moved out of the way of the zoomed window when it expanded, and then moved back when it shrunk.

could be achieved easily if 'present windows' - optionally! - acitvates the desktop effect 'desktop fisheye'
