Use Strigi for music collection datase. Currently, Amarok must search your music songs in the harddisk. It's possible to use the Strigi's database to improve the speed when Amarok is creating the database?

I am marking this idea as submitted. Amarok developers have already stated they would like to integrate with Strigi when (or if) performance becomes good enough.

PLEASE don't make Strigi the only way for Amarok to index its collection though. For some of us, Strigi is just a pointless resource-eater that we disable because we've got no use for it. If I need to re-enable Strigi to use Amarok, then that's the day I abandon Amarok. |

the only database backend for amarok that makes sense is a upnp server like mediatomb. that way amarok can play the music as well as any upnp client on the network.
strigi is simply for another task. it is not suitable for handling media content. |
