Hello! I was testing the new Clementine app. (Is a port of Amarok 1.4 to Qt4). Of course I like more Amarok 2 (at least for now :-P) But I saw in the old Amarok something that I miss too much. Is the spectrum analyzer.
English is not my mother tongue, so for those who don't know what I'm referring to, you can see this screenshot: I would really like to have it back in the new Amarok. I think that was a detail that makes Amarok more eye-catching. I don't know if this was discussed in the past, I looked for it, so let me know If it was discussed and discarded, but it would be a pity for me don't bring it back. Thank you very much |

In the Amarok's forum they've given this link to me https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199000
It looks that for makes this idea real, phonon should implements support for this first. Well is still a job for the kde comunity, not only for Amarok guys. Actualization: I thought that Clementine doesn't use phonon, but I was looking in the code and it is not true, they are using phonon and they have the spectrum analyzer at both time :S My programming skills are not so high, so i can't be more helpful right now. http://code.google.com/p/clementine-pla ... onengine.h |

That could be, but still I don't get this wish, since it really reminds of the Moodbar which is back implemented since 2.2

Sorry for my english, but I don't know what do you mean. Don't you understand this wish or don't you like it?
The spectrum analyzer and the moodbar are things completely differents, if you don't understand what i'm referring to, maybe I can make more screenshots or a screencast to see it in movement. Greetings! |

I just look for a video in youtube, here you can see:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTD0oGSs ... re=related Is the thing below the playlist that is moving when the music starts (around 0:35). Do you remember it in Amarok 1.4? |

I think the term used is equaliser visualisation. However I could be very wrong

[How can a spniash guy say "tongue" for "language" ? I thought tongue could stand for language only in french ?]
I don't think that spectrum analyzer really worth it : the moodbar is really more intrusting for instance, because it features something new. The spectrum analyzer is not really usefull, not that original, and not even that pretty : at least visualisation of music like in Rhythmbox would be nice. |

[OFFTOPIC: Yes, mother tongue is "lengua materna" in spanish, and it is works also in English]
Moodbar is not a new feature neither, it was in the old amarok 1.4. Visualisation of music like in Rythmbox is also cool for me, but it is another idea (you can open it), good for parties. The basics are the same, and if amarok can develop the spectrum analyzer (or equaliser visualization ) it won't be very difficult to make the same thing that rythmbox does. For example, we can have both, and press a shortcut and make it full screen. Of course that the one I showed in the screenshot is only an example, a model. I remember that amarok had many ones that you can change, someone like the rythmbox one I think. Greetings! |

[Shame on me... to say my father grew up in Pedraza, little village near Palencia, and I didn't even knew that !]
I think the issue come from Phonon more than Amarok. But if I remember well, Phonon team is working on an equalizer widget which could be integrated in Amarok (and open the doors for a future visualizer widget). |

That's incorrect. This is not a duplicate of bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=190000 This is a duplicate of bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199000 I think that is too difficult to know, even to search, if this kind of wish is a duplicate or not if you are not working on it. But we are a great comunity and, with all ours eyes, we can fix everything |

Typo, sorry, corrected.
It is not difficult or should not be for moderators. I would just love if people check for dupes or else just ask me if it is about Amarok. Pushing brainstorms without checking or asking causes me dupes to handle, and I really already have enough work *sigh* This is the second time I have to go through hoops because of Brainstorm and it is every time half an hour of work lost.
