One feature that can support "Mergeable utility bars for all KDE applications" is "application menu collapsing", that is having a single entry in the menu bar, named "Menu" and all common menu entries as a submenu for it. (See the "TinyMenu" Firefox extention, for example.)
(Optional: One could be allowed to configure which menu entries to be placed under the single "Menu" and which should be left outside, and placed directly on the menubar.) |

Developers are already aware of this idea, they have been discussing if and how to implement it on the mailing list for a while now.

In the same way, what about a general option that can allow that all application's menu can collapse (hide) and appear like "kicker". An other option would be to choose where the application's menu can appear and hide when the cursor goes in a certain region of the screen (upper side , downside, on the left on the right, in the corner upper left, upper right ect...) or with a short cut. best regard |
