This idea refers to this article: http://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2011/03/menu-button-inside-window-decorations/
Menubutton inside window decoration At the moment, most of the titlebars' space is unused. That's especially on netbooks a waste of space. If we put a menu button inside the window decoration instead of a menu bar below the title bar, we have ~10px more space vertitically. ![]() It is possible to implement this with DBusMenu. Merge tabs on top and tabs inside the window decoration It is already possible to tab windows inside the window decoration. Since firefox has tabs on top, this looks ugly: ![]() same with the Terminal: ![]() I'd also like tabs on top for kde applications like dolphin or konqueror. If tabs on top are activated inside an application, the tabs should be inside the windowdecoration, tabs on top and tabs inside the window decoration should be merged. ![]() This would look much cleaner than 2 rows of tabs, one above the other. This is possible with a "dirty" hack ("new tab" opens a new window which is tabbed inside the window decoration), but I think the kde developers would prefer a cleaner solution ![]() (mockup 1 and 4 aren't mine) |

As the blog post shows, developers are already aware of these ideas and are actively discussing them. Although the chance of firefox supporting it are very slim, since firefox developers have never cared at all about KDE integration.

I don't think this is currently possible in Firefox. It's a GTK application, so while KDE can apply a theme to make it match the system better it really can't change elements inside of the window itself. Elements like tabs are handled by GTK and elements like the windows tab is handled by QT.
However, I don't know for sure. |

It is also already possible with some "dirty" changes
-AddOn for hiding the tabbar -settings: Always open links in new windows -change of the "new-tab"-button functionality to "open new window" (aout:config) -kwin application specific setting: autogroup by identical Not a very nice solution, though. |
