Every time I log in into my kde desktop I get several dialogs most of them complaining about connectivity issues. All these messages makes booting kde not a very pleasant experience and it make no sense (from my point of view) to bother users about issues that will be solved automatically in a couple of seconds once wireless connection is established or he can not do anything to fix them in case network is not available.
You can see on the attached screenshot that I have to close at least four dialogs before I can start using my computer (including the KWallet dialog). -KMail: It should track connectivity state and change automatically from connected mode to non-connected mode automatically silently. -KOrganizer daemon: It should keep silence unless it can not connect with network resources after some time (several minutes) provided that there is a working network connection. |

Please only post one idea per thread. This is two totally unrelated ideas.
The kwallet idea is already in bugs.kde.org and has been heavily discussed. It cannot happen before KDE Frameworks 5 since kdelibs is frozen. The kmail connectivity tracking I think has been fixed, although I haven't tested it. It is also a known issue, though. KOrganizer daemon should be the same as kmail, detecting connectivity state. So all of these suggestions are already known. So I am closing this idea as submitted. Next time please post each idea in a separate thread.

i agree that each particular fix for these issues are to be done independently but this post meant to bring attention to a general ussability issue in the kde desktop. I´ve been using kde 4 since 4.4, and the experience has not improve much in this sense. Another example is the dialog tha users need to accept when uBlog plasmoid is used or we access to webdav from Dolphin. I thought it was a good idea to post about this issue and see what other users think about it. Anyway, thank you for your info.

This is not the place to raise general usability issues. Please do that in discussions and opinions or other subject-specific forums.
