OS: Slackware 12.2
KDE 3.51.0 KOffice Workspace 1.6.3 I've been trying to take a look at KOffice, but when I try to open a .pps file or a .wpd file I get the message, "Missing Export Filter. Could Not Export File." I've "googled" around, but haven't found a solution. Where do I find these "filters" and how are they installed? Thank you very much.

They should be installed as one of your distribution package, I would hunt for something called koffice-filters or something like that.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've looked through the packages, but didn't find export filters. Maybe I just overlooked them. OTOH, I was reading some of the information about KOffice and I'm not sure wpd (WordPerfect) or pps (powerpoint slideshows) are supported, or not fully supported by KOffice. I got the impression they are not. Thanks, again.

Since installing KDE4.2, the KOffice 1.6 wpd filter crashes every time whereas under KDE3.5 it worked perfectly.

as for the *.wpd, i just created, saved and re-opened one with kword, no errors or re-productions of the error you saw as for the *.pps, i do not have anything that can create the slideshow, just a *.ppt. |

Sorry, wpd files still don't open for me. Doesn't your ppt (powerpoint presentation) file display properly?

The issue for me is opening wpd files created elsewhere. I still get the same crash and the same backtrace as I reported.
