programming with KOffice

I am wondering, is it possible to embed kword editor in external application. OpenOffice has UNO which while not great is a way to do that. Is there Koffice alternative to UNO? I can't find any documentation on that, thank you very much in advance.

Yes it is possible. KWord like the other KOffice applications is implemented using the KParts framework. These KPart-modules can be embedded in other KPart-aware applications (the most prominent example is Konqueror). Please see http://api.kde.org/4.x-api/kdelibs-apid ... index.html for more details.

In KOffice1 we went for this approach too, and thats still possible as Jaham pointed out. Chances are pretty good you might like to look at our new embedding concept, though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flake_(KDE)
