OK, I began using KWord for serious projects.
My question: is how can I use columns within a text (opposed to a whole page)? Do I put 3 text frames on the page or is there another possibility?

There is an option for number of column in Format | Page Layout, is that what you're looking for?

I found that. What I meant is like this on one page: text above text above text above text above text above text above Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 Column1 Column2 Column3 text below text below text below text below text below text below text Basically what you said just inside the page.

Oh, sorry I misunderstood your question. Well, I'm not aware of such feature. Maybe others with more knowledge can help you.

This is not yet possible, no. In KWord 1.6 or 2.0 you can do this by placing a text frame on the top of your page to have that full width area. You likely want to make the top-margin of the page bigger so that the two text areas don't overlap.

I thought so. My only problem with that solution that if the columns go over several pages, it is messy to recreate them on every page. Thanks for the input!
