Is it me or the spelling function is not working?
No underlining, no spell checking (automatically or manually). Ákos PS: sorry for the many posts, but I tries to use KWord for serious work and I stumble upon these promblems...

No problem. Is there a list what are known bugs and issues?

Dimitros, Michael, if you have a dictionary set up for kde applications to use, spellchecking should work in KWord as well. It does here.

Well, not necessarily: I have a working spell-checker on konqueror and kwrite, for example, but kword underline a lot of words that are correctly spelled when Spanish is used. English seems to work OK, which makes everything more strange: the Spanish spell checker on konqueror works.

In that case I think you can safely say you have found a bug with regard to other-language dictionaries. Please report it

Two possibilities: or my skills as bug searcher are severely diminished with age or searching bug on kde's bug tracking system is really complicated... Maybe it is the first one
My report was immediately marked as duplicated of this one: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189287 which I did not see on my search... Oh well. It seems 2.1 will work better.

I remember snooping around the KOffice source and spotting the spell-checking language settings hard-coded in. I believe this is fixed in trunk/2.1, though.
