Hidden text in KWord?

Wed May 19, 2010 3:11 pm
Hello--I just learned about KWord and am wondering:

In KWord, can the user:

1 Select text--a word, sentence, paragraph--and format it as hidden text?
2 If so: Can the user create a custom toolbar button for this?

This would work the same as the toolbar buttons for italic, bold, underline, etc.

Select text, click Hidden button.

This is easily done in MS Word; it's not possible in OpenOffice Writer.

Can it be done in KWord?

Thank you!

In simple terms No but KOffice 2.2 is out soon and may have a number of new features.

LyX/LaTeX had this feature if you are keen to use it - and it is rather more sophisticated than what you can get in MS Office.

Thanks for the pointer, john_hudson--I just checked out the lyx.org site.

"it is rather more sophisticated than what you can get in MS Office."

No kidding! It's an awesomely powerful program, more than I need at
this point, but good to know about.

I hope a developer or user of KOffice 2.2 can tell me if KWord 2.2
has this capability. Seems so simple, but of all the WP pgms I've
tried so far, only MSWord can do it.
